Old school MacBook Pro power at a budget price. Core i7, 8GB RAM — still capable for everyday university work.
The MacBook Pro 2011 is showing its age, but 8GB RAM and a Core i7 still handle documents, research, presentations, and web browsing reliably. The 500GB HDD is slower than an SSD — but if you're on an extremely tight budget and want a MacBook that actually works, this delivers.
Is this the right laptop for you?
- ✅ Arts, humanities, and education students on a very tight budget — Gets the job done for basic university work
- ⚠️ Business students — Fine for Word and Excel but the HDD makes it slower than ideal
- ❌ CS, engineering, medical, or data students — Too old and limited for modern technical work
- ❌ Anyone needing modern software — Some recent apps won't install on older macOS versions

- Intel Core i7
